MTT108 Spectrogram

More dub techno this week. A slower, sleepier selection.

This show (like most of MTT Year 3) is no longer available for download here. Get in touch with me at the email address listed at the top of this page if you want a copy of it.

  1. Am.Light / Breathing 00:00
  2. Ohrwert / Astral 06:20
  3. Brk / ML4 10:09
  4. Zzzzra / Avalanche 13:45
  5. Alteria Percepsyne / Unfamiliar Glare 17:15
  6. Organon / Unknown I 22:01
  7. Overcast Sound / Passing Storm 24:29
  8. Baier_Box / Atmung (Digitalverein Remix) 31:12
  9. Mark Broom / This Town 35:54
  10. R.M / Insatiable 40:06
  11. Brother Blue / Rain Selector 42:35
  12. Ohrwert / Ventral 47:20
  13. Nulleins / Multiplex 50:22
  14. Kris Moon / Submerged 58:22

This mix features two tracks from each of the labels Deepindub, Dewtone Recordings, Recycled Plastics, and Thinner. (Tracks 4 and 6, 1 and 7, 2 and 11 (also 12!), and 8 and 13 respectively). I imagine the first three as following the model established by the fourth: the famous ambient, dub techno, and minimal label Thinner. I'll probably do a Thinner show at some point, so I'll save my thoughts for that. Thinner's catalog is still freely available, so check that out if you're interested.

My favorite here is Passing Storm by Overcast Sound. Something about it landed just right. I gave it a few extra minutes before mixing out, and even then it felt wrong to interrupt it.

This will probably be my last straight dub techno show of the year. I needed to relax a bit this month, and this style worked well for that. Next week will probably be some downtempo to take the edge off after playing the arcade.
