ambient, anonradio, house, idm, movement through thought, music, radio, techno // 2017-07-07

MTT019 Spectrogram

Very '90s this week. Right-click save-as here or on the spectrogram above to download the mix from aNONradio's archives.

  1. Exquisite Corpse / Sitting In A Tree (Time Flies)
  2. Exquisite Corpse / BKS
  3. Future Sound of London / Stolen Documents
  4. Eon / Inner Mind (Bass Mind)
  5. Eddie "Flashin" Fowlkes / I Wanna Know
  6. User48736353001 / Bimbongo
  7. Cabaret Voltaire / Brutal But Clean
  8. Cabaret Voltaire / Back To Brazilia
  9. Orbital / 2 Deep
  10. User48736353001 / EP String
  11. 808 State / State To State
  12. Psychic TV / Tribal
  13. Orbital / Chime (Live)

Some old favorites in here - FSOL Accelerator, Orbital's first self-titled.

The two Cabaret Voltaire tracks deserve special mention. The albums that contain those tracks - Plasticity and The Conversation - are amazing. Particularly The Conversation. Many thanks to robot DJ 808 for introducing me to them.

MTT No. 012 / Midnight Sunshine

anonradio, electro, movement through thought, music, radio, techno // 2017-05-19

MTT012 Spectrogram

Techno. House? Detroit, vaguely Detroit, and perhaps not Detroit at all. Right-click save-as here or on the spectrogram above to download the mix from aNONradio's archives.

  1. Indio / Kino Flow
  2. Shanti Celeste / Universal Glow
  3. Fairmount Squad / Pro One
  4. Suburban Knight / Shape Shifter
  5. UR / Untitled [UR038 B2]
  6. System 7 vs. Derrick May / Prototype 1
  7. Model 500 / The Messenger
  8. The Martian / Medicine Man
  9. Dark Matrix / Untitled [LSF007 D3]
  10. Shanti Celeste / Porto Seguro
  11. 69 / Pungtang 2
  12. Derrick May / Drama
  13. Suburban Knight / Midnight Sunshine
  14. Ian O'Brien / Mad Mike Disease
  15. The Martian / Windwalker
  16. Dave Angel / So High

Not sure what to highlight here. That Fairmount Squad record is good and very strange. Shanti Celeste is consistently great. See if you can break the code on UR038 B2.

A couple of these tracks come from the excellent Megatech Body CD and Ghost in the Shell Tribute albums - those albums are unique. Megatech Body CD is the soundtrack to the "Ghost in the Shell" playstation game, expanded out to two discs. "Ghost in the Shell Tribute" is, I think, a series of two CDs paying tribute to GITS released after the playstation game and its soundtrack. Those deserve a longer writeup, and probably their own dedicated mix.

MTT No. 007 / A Little Basic

anonradio, dub techno, movement through thought, music, radio, techno // 2017-04-14

MTT007 Spectrogram

Dub Techno this week. My connection to aNONradio dropped near the end of this mix, so, unfortunately, there's about 5 minutes worth of "Vitamin" by Kraftwerk shoved between the last two tracks. Because of that I'm not linking to the recording here; it can be found at (fished out of) the aNONradio archives.

  1. Alteria Percepsyne / Violet Detachment
  2. Seal Bient / Runout 02.02
  3. Ovatow / Permutation Two
  4. Ben Businovski / Communication Bridge
  5. Buntaro Toriyama / Dive Into Preparation
  6. JGarrett / Vaporizer (Kris Moon Remix)
  7. Sustainer / Monocromo_A
  8. W-Moon / Coo
  9. Phoboz / Kryostasis (Basic)
  10. Maurizio / M-4 B
  11. Maurizio / M-4 A
  12. Basic Channel / Quadrant Dub I
  13. Basic Channel / Quadrant Dub II
  14. Daniel Blomqvist / Delay
  15. Robert Hood / And Then We Planned Our Escape [126 BPM Shift]

Not a particularly deep selection. Some more Motorlab (carrying over from last week), some Thinner, a couple of proper Basic Channel classics, and a timestretched Robert Hood track to close it out.
